UPDATE ON FORT WORTH ANIMAL ABUSE CASE

A little update on the Fort Worth animal cruelty case. The auction conducted by Carpe Canem was a huge success, bringing in $18,010. A huge thank you to Carpe Canem, Life with Dogs, everyone who donated items and, especially, all who bid. Thank you also to those who bid on my photos and note cards, you have great taste :)

There is currently another auction going on over at 2 Hounds Design. It ends on August 3rd, so get over there and bid. Now!

And lastly, an update on the 29 dog rescued from examiner.com. A number of the dogs are doing as well as can be expected, some are even showing great improvement. It is with great sadness, however, that I relay 4 have passed away; Rachel, Martin, Pudge and Braden, even with all the exceptional care given. Please remember there are still 25 dogs require extensive care and will for months. Donations to these groups are still needed. Here are the 7 groups that have taken in the dogs.

Greyhound Adoption League of Texas
Greyhounds Unlimited
Texas Italian Greyhound Rescue
Collin County Humane Society
Saluki Tree of Life Alliance
It’s a Grey Area Greyhound Adoption
All Breed Rescue of Texas

I've been so sad to read every day about the four who have passed away. Martin's foster mom is heartbroken! It seems so unfair that they finally got out and then passed away. One of the others is really sick, too! We are hoping that there will be a lot of money raised for them. Heaven knows we've been outbid on everything we were after in the second auction!

I'm always thrilled to help if I can. Speaking of that, I have some tweeting to do, time is running short!

It's heartbreaking to hear four of the dogs have passed away, what a wonderful & selfless job the foster carers do, I commend them for that.

At least the ones that have passed on had the opportunity to pass in loving caring arms, I only hope the others survive and find wonderful homes.

It's hard to put into words the absolute contempt I feel for the humans who cause suffering and cruelty to any life form. Then you have the other side of the coin, those wonderful souls who do their utmost to pick up the pieces, repair the damage and make it possible for some to live happily ever after. Those whose damage is irreparable will leave this world knowing they were loved albeit for too short a time. More power to the wonderful souls .....
