BOB MONTAGE
A little Bob with toy montage for this lovely Sunday. (You are getting extra photos today because I've missed posting for the past few days.) I love when the newly fostered/adopted greys learn how much fun toys can be. There is such joy and pride in playing with their new possessions. All you in the Tucson area - Bob is still available for adoption.

GOTCHA' DAY
Sunday, June 5, 2011
DEJA VU. SIGH.
How many of you remember the movie Groundhog Day starring Bill Murray? The one where the day just repeats itself over and over. We, at the Cult of the Greyhound household, have experienced a severe case of déjà vu this morning. The alarm clock hit 6:00 AM. Again.
Willow broke her toe during playdate.
Didn't we just do this 3 months ago?
Willow was running with the pack but there were no other dogs near her when it happened. Based on the photos, I think she tried to cut away from another dog she was quickly coming up on and caught her toe/foot in the grass. Crack.
I (and another Mom) heard it break. Lovely sound, that.
She pulled up and began the limping journey to me with that look – Mom, I hurt and you need to fix it.
I quickly headed over, took one look at it and knew it was broken. It looked pretty similar to Dru’s toe when she broke hers.
The outside toe on her right foot. Twisted off at an impossible angle.
My vet is closed on the weekend so we went to the emergency vet. They wanted to put the foot in a hard splint. I asked that they put it in a soft cast similar to Dru’s treatment because it worked out so well - slowly, but well - and she is running around with no favoring of the foot. They did as I asked, but didn’t wrap it to the extent my vet did with Dru's foot. When he is done wrapping it up, it resembles a club and could be used as a weapon. So I will be taking her in this week to my vet to have the bandage redone, Dr. McMillan style. The emergency vet also recommended we see him as they were not comfortable just wrapping it in a soft bandage. (I know now that is because they don't do it like my vet.)
Willow's passed out now. The victim of 100 mg of Tramadol. She’s going to be really annoyed when she realizes she is now on the injured reserve list for 3 months.
X-ray of the broken toe. It is the upper toe (like our pinkie finger), 3rd bone from the end. (below the "o" and "u" in the copyright text.) The break is the dark "X" pattern.

PHOTOS FOR THE DAY and SONGS FROM THE iPOD
Good morning! Welcome all your visitors from Bunny's blog Tales and Tails, one of my absolute favorite locations to visit on the web. I was a bit surprised this morning when I went over for my morning read and there was a link over here, though I knew Bunny was posting her playlist. (I would like to suggest it also include Pretty in Pink by the Psychedelic Furs ;) ) We chatted with Houndstooth about favorite songs, so thought we would share our favorites on our iPod as well.
Dog Days are Over by Florence + the Machine (One of our favorites we also share with Bunny)
Every Dog Has His Day by Flogging Molly
Black Eyed Dog by Nick Drake
March of the Dogs by Sum 41
The Race is On by Sawyer Brown
Given the Dog a Bone by AC/DC
Leader of the Pack by the Shangri-Las
After a day at the park we also like As I Lay Me Down by Sophie B Hawkins
Breeze would like to add Ready to Run by the Dixie Chicks. She's all about the running (see below). Willow has asked to add Us of Lesser Gods by Flogging Molly. She feels it fits her well and states "Bow down to me." (of course that is a play bow). Dru decided she would also like to add Crazy Train by Ozzy. She feels it also fits Willow well. The human doing the typing today would like to add Calling You by Blue October. That seems to be all I do.
Please let us know what favorites are on your iPod.
Today's photos are a Breeze montage. I mentioned before how when she came to be with me it was 3 weeks before she would even let me look at her without running in fear. Now she just grins as she does laps past me during playdate. This little montage is from last weekend.

One little aside, if you decide to follow my blog (THANKS, BTW!) please leave me a comment so I know you are following and I can follow back. Blogger has made it so I haven't been able to see any of my followers in the past few weeks; either on the main page or from my dashboard. If anyone knows how to fix that, I welcome the suggestion. I'm sure it will be some random glitch. Sue had to tell me how unchecking the "stay signed in" box would allow me to be able to actually post comments on other blogs. Thanks Sue!

PHOTO FOR THE DAY
I always wonder what are the actual conversations between them:
"Would you two stop goofing around and hurry up we are due at the meeting on the other side of the field."
"So when I looked at her she had her tongue out like this. It was just disgraceful."
"Stop touching me. Mom said you have to stay on your half of the field. Mom! She's touching me."
"Recruits. Get into formation. Now!"
"This is my dance space. This is your dance space. I don't go into yours. And you don't go into mine."
"You have such lovely teeth. Who's your dentist?"
"Yodelayheehoo"
Or really, none of the above.
